Chocolate Snaps

  • 1 pkg. of Devil’s Food Cake Mix
  • ⅓ c. oil
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 t. ground ginger
  • ½ t. pepper
  • 1 t. cinnamon
  • 1 T. water
  • ¾ c. chocolate chips
  • ¼ c. sugar

Preheat oven to 375°.  Combine first 7 ingredients in a large bowl. Mix until smooth.  Stir in chocolate chips.  Shape dough into 1 inch balls; roll in sugar to coat. Place balls 2 inches apart on a lightly greased baking sheet.  Bake for 9 minutes.  Cool 2-3 minutes on baking sheets before removing to wire racks to cool completely.  Makes about 4 dozen.
