Thousand Day Flower

Only the finest leaves of the tea plant are used in their creation. After nimble fingers carefully pluck the unblemished and uniformly sized young leaf and bud sets, the leaves are ready to be made into green tea.

First the leaves are withered in bamboo baskets, after which they are pan fired by hand, cooled and once again sorted. Then one by one, the leaves are lined up together between thumb and index finger and tied with a single piece of thread. Each bundle of tea leaves is individually handcrafted into a unique shape.
