Hi Tea Lovers!

Sparkling Tea:

Golden Star TeaThe new sparkling tea has finally arrived — just in time for Valentine’s Day.  I didn’t want to tell you about it earlier until I knew we could get it.  I saw it last year at the World Tea Expo, but it wasn’t ready for the public yet.  I tried to order it for our 5th year anniversary party, but it wasn’t available.  It finally arrived last week!

For those of you with Valentine’s reservations on February 14th you will be treated to this exciting new non-alcoholic sparkling beverage.  I can’t wait for you to try it.

For those of you who aren’t attending our Valentine’s celebration but would like to try it, you can pick up a bottle in the gift shop for $18.95 each.  At the present time we are the only ones that carry it.  We will be offering a sample glass (subject to availability) for $2.50 per glass during your afternoon tea.

Stop in and try it today!  It’s delicious!

New Class:

We have a new class coming up next week.  Life Coach Cindie Wilding will be presenting, “Putting Yourself On Your Priority List.”  Women everywhere tend to suffer from the “putting yourself last” syndrome. You know how it is…”sure, you take the last piece”, “no I’m fine”, “I’ll do it”, “let me take care of that”, “other people come first” and then “what about my needs?!”. It’s so common. We want to be nice, we want people to like us but who ends up at the bottom of our lists? Ourselves! If you’ve found yourself in this place, you probably end up feeling quite out of balance, because everyone else’s needs are coming before yours. There is a solution for this – stop the self neglect and start to practice self-love. In this month of Valentine’s Day with an emphasis on Love, how about taking a morning to appreciate yourself, learn a little about how to practice good self-care, and put those principles into action by gifting yourself with precious time spent at a a morning tea party with scones. Sound delicious? Join Cindie on February 18 at 9:00 am for tea and scones and some lovely tips on taking wonderful care of YOU.

This is a pre-pay event. Please call 916-663-6358 to make your reservation or sign up on-line. Payment of $18.95 will be taken at the time the reservation is made. No refunds will be given for cancellations.

Dena’s Fabulous White Chocolate Orange Cupcakes:

This recipe is to die for!  Dena, my baker, made these wonderful little goodies for my birthday. I can’t even tell you how delicious they are!  You’ll have to see for yourself.

Here’s the recipe:

  • 1 white cake mix with pudding in the mix
  • 1 1/4 c. water
  • 1/3 c. oil
  • 3 egg whites
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 t. orange juice
  • 1/4 c. real mayonnaise
  • 1 c. white chocolate chips

Orange Cream Cheese Frosting:

  • 3 pkg. (8oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 T. orange juice
  • 1 t. orange zest
  • 4 c. powdered sugar

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.  Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Mix at medium speed for 3 minutes until well blended.  Pour into mini cupcake pans lined with mini cupcake papers.  Bake for 5-7 minutes or until done when a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Remove from pan and cool before frosting. Makes about 48 mini cupcakes (24 regular cupcake size-bake about 15-18 minutes).

Orange Cream Cheese Frosting:

In large bowl beat cream cheese, orange juice, zest until smooth.  Gradually add powdered sugar to the mix 1 c. at a time.  Continue beating until creamy and smooth in texture.  Refrigerate until ready to use.  Pipe onto the top of your cupcakes.
